The likes of the Bitburger offerings should be widely available, considering their reach, but I think production is limited, and I've only seen them online. I can't really say I lack choice here, but then, small, local drink market, like in my village, will only have the mainstream or regional brands.Barry Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07367655129107699025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8943606491780538470.post-34856433284771859822014-03-03T12:09:09.936+01:002014-03-03T12:09:09.936+01:00Well that's the other question that BKL throws...Well that's the other question that BKL throws up: where do you go to buy this sort of stuff in real life? The Beer Nuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14105708522526153528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8943606491780538470.post-77078178197372917082014-03-03T12:06:00.317+01:002014-03-03T12:06:00.317+01:00When I first moved to Germany, I reckoned that the...When I first moved to Germany, I reckoned that the country was something like 10 years behind the trends of the rest of the brewing world, but it seems they are catching up fast!

I agree, and have no problem with it, as long as it broadens the choice and, as said, is transparent. I'm not worried about the use of the term craft, but more about what's in my glass at any given moment.

I'm very curious to see if Distelhäuser will actually sell those beers, or were they just experiments for a few festivals.Barry Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07367655129107699025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8943606491780538470.post-72271601643258281892014-03-03T11:54:10.077+01:002014-03-03T11:54:10.077+01:00It's fascinating to see the parallels with wha...It's fascinating to see the parallels with what's happening at Britain's large regional breweries: the setting up of small plants making more specialised beer styles for the "craft" market.

Done properly it's the best of both worlds, IMO: you still get your solid reliable mainstream beer, with an option of something else when you get bored of it. I reckon in both Britain and Germany market forces will keep the prices of the specialties from soaring to daft BraufactuM levels across the board. The Beer Nuthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14105708522526153528noreply@blogger.com
